WordPress and custom websites for small businesses

I'm Dejan Markovic, an independent frontend and web developer. I build websites for companies and people who need a clear presence online: what you do, how to reach you, and a site that works well on a phone. I use WordPress when you want to edit the content yourself, and custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript when the work needs something a ready-made setup does not cover, such as a calculator, a classifieds site, or a custom form.

If you already have a site, I can redesign it so it is easier to follow and easier to use. I work with clients in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and abroad. Price and timing depend on the scope. After our initial conversation, I'll send you a proposal with the scope, price, and timeline.

When I can help

I build WordPress sites when you want to change texts and images yourself. If the work needs something a ready-made setup does not cover, I build a custom solution: a calculator, classifieds, booking, or a custom form.

You need a first business website

I build the pages that show what you do, what you offer, and how someone can reach you. A visitor should quickly find a phone number, email, or form.

Your current site is outdated or hard to use

If the site looks poor on a phone, loads slowly, or nobody knows where to edit the text, I can redesign it. I keep what still works and change what gets in the way.

You want to edit the content yourself

If we build the site in WordPress, I show you where to change texts and images. Small updates then do not require coding. On a custom site, edits go through me, or we agree how you will handle them.

You want to sell online

When you need to sell through the site, I can set up a shop: products, a cart, and a basic checkout. On WordPress that is usually WooCommerce. That goes into the proposal when selling is part of the work.

You need a custom solution

If you need a calculator, classifieds, appointment booking, or a form that is not a simple contact form, I build that to fit the job, in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. WordPress is not required for that kind of work.

You need help with edits and upkeep

If you need support after launch, we can arrange occasional edits or regular maintenance.

What the build covers

Price and timing depend on the scope. The domain, hosting, licenses, and maintenance can be separate costs. I put that in the proposal, so it is clear what the build includes and what you pay on the side.

The agreed build

  • The pages we agreed on, in WordPress or as a custom site.
  • A clear design that works on a phone, tablet, and computer.
  • A way for people to reach you, usually a form or a clear email and phone number.
  • Page titles, descriptions, and a readable content structure.
  • Launch on your hosting once the account and domain are ready.

What we can add

  • An online shop, usually with WooCommerce, and payment.
  • Custom features: a calculator, classifieds, booking, or a custom form.
  • A second language on the same site.
  • Bookings, user accounts, or a connection to another tool.
  • Writing the text and preparing photos, if you do not have them.

Separate costs

  • The domain, in your name.
  • Hosting, in your name.
  • Paid licenses if the site needs them, such as a theme or a plugin. I say so in advance if that will be needed.

How we work

You do not need to know the technical details in advance. Tell me what you do and what you want. You can send your current site or a few examples you like. The work is remote, over calls and email.

1. Conversation

We talk about the business, the content, and the kind of site you want. If you have an old site or examples, send them. That is enough to start.

2. Proposal

After our initial conversation, I'll send you a proposal with the scope, price, and timeline.

3. Build

I build the site in WordPress or as a custom solution, depending on what you need. You review the progress and leave comments. You send the texts and images, unless writing or photo work is part of the scope.

4. Review and launch

Before launch we check the site on a phone and a computer. If you are meant to edit the content yourself, I show you how. Then I put the site on your hosting.

Sites I have worked on

Here are a few sites I have built, from business sites to custom work. Each link opens the live site. Clients keep editing the content, so a page can look different today from the version I handed over.

Remtek - car repair service

A large turbocharger on a dark blue background, with text about turbocharger repair and sales from REMTEK.

Remtek.rs is a corporate website that presents the company's services, experience, and completed projects. It has a clean, responsive layout with clear navigation.

Common questions

How much does a website cost, and what does the price depend on?

It depends on whether this is a new site or a redesign, how many pages there are, and whether a shop, a second language, or extra features are part of the work. After our initial conversation, I'll send you a proposal with the scope, price, and timeline. The domain, hosting, and licenses can be separate costs.

How long does it take?

It depends on the scope and on how quickly the texts, images, and your comments are ready. The timeline is part of the proposal I send after we talk.

Do you help with the domain and hosting?

If you do not have a domain and hosting yet, I can help you choose and set them up. The purchase stays in your name.

Will the site work on a phone?

Yes. I check the site on a phone, a tablet, and a computer. Most people open it on a phone first, so that has to work.

Can I change texts and images myself?

If we build the site in WordPress, yes. You then change texts and images yourself. On a custom site, edits go through me.

Do you build multilingual websites?

Yes, if that is part of the scope. A second language and translations then go into the proposal as extra work.

Do you offer maintenance?

Yes. If you need support after launch, we can arrange occasional edits or regular maintenance.

Send an inquiry

Write a short note about what you do, whether you already have a site, and what you want to build or change. That is enough for a first reply. If it is easier, email dejan98vgd@gmail.com.
